This is any letter or advertising message sent to a large number of people on their e-mail addresses. E-mail marketing is still one of the cheapest methods for conducting online advertising campaign. Other advantages are that it is instant, it delivers your message to many customers at once, not waiting for the customers themselves to see or click on your ad.

This is a post on a site or blog for a fee. May represent an interview or news which contains useful information and at the same time mentions the name of the advertiser.

Paid search or advert in Google AdWords

One of the forms of advertising that quickly gathered speed worldwide. This is the so called contextual advertising or "paid search" in the most popular search engine Google.com.
After posting your ad in the search engine, it is displayed as a search result according to the keywords the user entered. When exiting a site, mail, etc. the user is automatically forwarded to a specified site.

Landing page

The landing page is the place where the user lands upon clicking on a banner ad, text ad or link. It can be specially designed for a specific campaign and include a raffle / contest or it could be just a corporate website of the advertiser.

Types of online advertising

According to the advertising strategy of the company, the Internet advertising can be either brand advertising or direct advertising. The brand advertising is aiming a long-term promotion of the brand while the direct advertising acts here and now.

Banners:
The banners can be static or animated, ie with or without moving images.

The standard banner forms are sized in pixels:
- 468 x 60 px - full banner;
- 234 x 60 pixels - half banner;
- 125 x 125 pixels - square banner;
- 88 x 31 pixels - micro button, often with a caption - "click", "More", "buy", etc.;
- 120 x 240 pixels - vertical banner usually called "Skyscraper";
- 728 x 90 pixels - horizontal banner, usually located at the top - above or below the ribbon logo;

Floating banners - appear for a few seconds over the content of the page and then disappear;
Custom Banners - have built-in sound, "fly" across the screen or 'shake'.

How to make an impressive banner? Most importantly, it should catch the eye and also to be easily memorable. The animation in it should call to action, and the text should be succinct and original.

  • Free hosting and domain name (not offered by all) - to advertise their products
  • Banners - large selection of banners for the advertisers' products
  • Links - to refer your visitors to their websites. These links may contain your unique username or ID in order to pay the commissions to you and not to someone else .
  • Links for collecting referrals (not offered by all).
  • Reliable statistics in real time.
  • Forum (not offered by all) - where you could share or find useful information.


What you should do? Select your affiliate network, then choose the merchant you would like to advertise. Afterwards you can select the banners and/or links of products and services the brand has offered and advertise them on your website / blog. When a visitor clicks on any of your banners, and decide to order something from the merchant's website, you will get a commission.
